Diana "DeDe" Yazzie Devine

For the past 43 years, DeDe has served as the CEO of Native American Connections, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families through Native American culturally competent behavioral health, affordable housing, and community development services. She has been widely recognized for in integrating Native American culture and traditional healing practices with research-based best practices throughout NAC's health programs. In what began as a small grassroots organization operating one program for Native American men in recovery from substance use disorder in 1972, today Native American Connections owns and operates 24 sites throughout Phoenix offering a continuum of affordable housing, health, and community development services that touch and change the lives of over 10,000 individuals and families each year.

DeDe shepherded the creation of wrap-around services that build on traditional Native American practice to help individuals address alcohol and drug recovery, break the cycle of abuse and addiction, and heal from trauma and abuse. She has been recognized as a leader in Arizona, and her innovations have served as a model for the nation.
